Description:

Reporting to the Senior Manager – Network, the candidate will be responsible for the client’s tower portfolio. He/She will be responsible for the structural engineering of projects in terms of additions or modifications on existing towers as well as the purchase of new towers. He/She will be working in direct collaboration with the Project Managers - Construction during the construction phase for the development of the network. The chosen candidate will be managing all activities related to our Tower portfolio including existing tower maintenance and management of space rentals within the infrastructures. His/Her performance is tied to the success of engineering and maintenance cost management components, respecting deadlines, the quality and security of built infrastructures as well as to the satisfaction of internal group customers.

His/her main tasks will include:

Coordinating with external consultants for the preparation of plans and structural analysis of existing tower sites.

Managing deadlines, cost and quality of the deliverables to the satisfaction of internal customers and members of the team.

Negotiating the fees related to structural analysis and inspections while maximizing the services the Consultants offer.

Remaining current on market pricing and establishing annual unit costs for the different services offered.

Maintaining expertise on structural aspects of towers.

Maintaining privileged corporate relations with consultants and contractors.

Managing Request for Quotes and analyzing those quotes for the purchase of new towers.

Assisting the Project Managers - Construction with structural issues.

Managing and coordinating consultants for post-construction inspections and coordinating the correction of deficiencies with Project Managers – Construction.

Managing inspections and maintenance of our tower footprint in conformance to the CSA S-37 standards.

Establishing civil construction standards as well as tower design criteria

Preparing construction standards and Request for Quotes

Working with the Project Managers – Construction on requests and designs for co-location on towers not belonging to client.

Verifying and approving implementation plans and requests for co-location on client’s towers.

Essential Skills / Competencies:

Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent

Minimum 5 years experience in structural telecommunications

Knowledge of the Request for Quote Policies

Certification in PMP is an asset

Basic Knowledge of wireless network

Intermediate level or advanced knowledge of Office software: Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.

Strong time and priority management skills
