Description

  • The senior functional analyst owns a strong expertise in Software Development Life-Cycle methodologies, and a TOP-END expertise in the release management processes.
  • Under the supervision of the Release Management chief advisor, the senior functional analyst is responsible to design and optimize the release management processes in the context of an ERM Tool acquisition.
  • Job Overview

  • The senior functional analyst functions as a subject matter expert in release management
  • The senior functional analyst will have to provide data to facilitate the decision of which solution (tool and integration) is the best one for the customer.
  • In accordance with release management governance policies already put in place (Release Management Boards and Comité de Gestion des Écosystèmes), the senior functional analyst will provide guidance to optimize the integration of those processes and Release Management Tools with current EPPM and SCM systems (Planview and Rational Team Concert).
  • The senior functional analyst will provide guidance to resolve integration problems between the selected ERM tool and BNC EPPM/SCM systems.
  • The resolution of these problems may have to include sub-process, data and/or technological adaptations that can impact the overall BNC Release Planning process and the Management of Tests/Dev Environments.
  • Primary Responsibilities and Activities

  • Participates with the chief advisor on Release Management to the primary suppliers’ selection and ultimate choice of the BNC ERM Tool. This includes identifying/finalizing/assessing criteria, cotes and loading factors for each solution.
  • Develops, adapts and enforces new or existing processes and roles to fit the optimal ERM tool usage within BNC organization.
  • In the context of an ERM tool acquisition, develops, adapts and enforces usage of a new ERM system integrated with the different source of planning information @ BNC (EPPM, SCM, MS Project, Excel).
  • In the context of an ERM tool acquisition, develops, adapts and enforces optimal ways to find, resolve and minimize Tests/DEV environments constraints (what-if conditions, scenarios selection) ; this includes determination of specific KPI and reports to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Communicates Release Management process to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Primary Work Arrangements

  • Works independently, but collaborates across IT domains that reach the integration needed.
  • Works with local IT domain resources responsible for release management, as well as across organizational boundaries (for example, Application Portfolio Managers, Application managers, Business Process Managers, Business Process Analysts, Security Architects, Enterprise Architects.
  • Education and Training

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or management IT, and related field or equivalent experience are required.
  • Experience

  • 15 to 20 years of technology experience is preferred.
  • Experience with application development release processes and tools is mandatory.
  • ITIL certification is desirable (in release management - Service Transition)
