Description

The selected candidate will have to maintain and install the architecture supporting the value added services under Wireless Technology Operations & Engineering including occasional maintenance to be executed between 12:00 and 05:00 am EST.

  • National/International Roaming management system
  • Voicemail
  • Caller Ring Tunes
  • Location Based Services
  • Storage Area Network (SAN)
  • Backup Solution (BAN)
  • Virtualization
  • Job Duties /Accountabilities:

  • Maintain existing systems and services in the production network, ensuring highest availability
  • Test and deploy new systems, services and technologies in the production network using established processes
  • Troubleshoot complex problems and identify solutions and recommendations
  • Understand and troubleshoot customer complaints
  • Perform IP Network troubleshooting
  • Deploy operational tools to facilitate the management of the system and minimize manual intervention by using automation
  • Document process and procedures and provide training to different teams
  • Work hours are conditional to customer requirements. Evenings and weekends may be required for special events
  • Collaborate with stakeholder teams such as VAS Engineering, Wireless technology, Service Development, Vendors and Operational teams on various project and operational activities
  • Work with and manage multiple vendors to resolve issues
  • Provide 4th level support for customer problems (internal & external)
  • Essential Qualifications / Competencies:

  • Must have minimum of 3 years of system administration experience
  • Excellent knowledge of Linux operating systems
  • Knowledge of these technologies: Push To Talk (OMA-PoC standard or equivalent), LTE/HSPA+, SIP signaling, IMS, SMS, Wi-Fi, OMA-DM/CP, FOTA, NFC etc.
  • Experience with IP Networking and Troubleshooting (Wireshark, routing / IPv4 & IPv6, load balancers, DNS, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of OSI model and networking concepts
  • Knowledge of cluster/high availability software
  • Experience with alarming/SNMP, monitoring, system performance analysis
  • Demonstrate analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Able to write scripts to automate processes and orchestrate deployments (Python, Shell or Perl etc)
  • Show interpersonal and leadership skills with a passion for results
  • Self-sufficient and strong ability to adapt to changes
  • Ability to motivate others and promote team spirit and employee value
  • Proficient in both written and oral communication
  • Preferred Qualifications /Competencies:

  • Preferably hold a University or College diploma in computers science or computer/electrical engineering
  • Previous experience in VAS systems
  • Project Management experience and good understanding of Agile frameworks to deliver and test new solutions (scrum, MVP, small delivery, iterative)
  • Incident management knowledge
  • Follow Change management procedures
  • Bilingual in English and French (Oral and Written)
  • Experience with Virtualization software (ex: VMWare, KVM)
  • knowledge of automation tools: Ansible, Puppet, Chef
