About the Role
The Hadoop Developer will be a key member of the Bell Business Intelligence Big Data Team and work on the Hadoop platform. The Hadoop Developer will work closely with Hadoop Administrators, Data Scientists, and business stakeholders. This position will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Diagnose, assess, troubleshoot and fix issues within the Open Source environment. Data cleansing and data quality/integrity testing to prepare data for general analytical use. ETL code optimization to produce production ready code Documentation of all development code. Testing of new tools in the Hadoop ecosystem. Opportunity to be cross trained in advanced analytical technique. Along with the rest of the team, actively research and share learning/advancements in the Hadoop space, especially related to development. Essential Skills
The following skills would be considered assets:
Degree in Computer Science or related discipline. Experience using and troubleshooting Open Source technologies. (3+ years) Experience using an ETL GUI Tool Experience using the Hadoop tool set such as Spark, Oozie, Pig, Hive, Map Reduce, Java, etc. (3+ years) Knowledge of Hadoop data model architecture Experience with any of the above responsibilities or Cloudera specific tools is preferred Experience optimizing and automating code as well as fail safe design. And must be a team player and fit well with the Bell Business Intelligence culture!
