Description
The client's Controllers are responsible for the integrity of the client's financial statements. The Controllers support the business unit by ensuring the effectiveness of business processes and through compliance with rules and regulations surrounding internal controls (such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act).
The Product & Inventory Accounting Team within the client's BU Controllers ensures the accuracy of product and inventory financial results through timely financial analysis and the implementation of strong financial and process controls. The team is a key partner in project and systems implementations, and plays an integral role in shaping operational and financial processes by analyzing and articulating its financial implications, and offering valuable insights on possible solutions.
Job Duties/Accountabilities:
The Manager, Product & Inventory Accounting role is responsible for the financial analysis and control of product revenue and COGS, inventory and corresponding provision.
Analysis of monthly financial results from product and inventory transactions, including revenue, COGS, and inventory provision. This includes month-end activities such as assessment of inventory valuation risk (inventory provision), preparation of journal entries, GL account analysis and balance sheet reconciliations.Work closely with the Mobility Device & Logistics team to review existing and proposed logistics processes in order to provide them an understanding of financial impacts, and guidance on controls required.Review and analysis of store and warehouse cycle count and annual physical count results. Regular review of inventory count process and controls.Work closely with the Finance and Finance Support teams to identify and resolve any issues related to the wireless device revenue recognition tool (SvA) and prepaid voucher database (SvR).Support quarterly and year-end external audit, as well as Sox operational effectiveness audits.Critical Qualifications:
University education in a business/accounting related disciplineCPA, CA professional designation3+ years work experience (preferably in manufacturing or logistics)Strong communication skills and ability to partner with various cross-functional groups and management levelsStrong analytical, organization and problem solving skillsStrong process and financial control mindsetResults oriented with the ability to prioritize and consistently deliver on time with a high degree of accuracyStrong proficiency in MS applications including Excel, Access, WordExperience with systems implementation and project managementPreferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of SAP FI (Financial Accounting), MM (Materials Management), SD (Sales & Distribution), BI (Business Intelligence)Knowledge of the client's Finance procedures and systemsExperience in Telecom industry and knowledge of the client's products
