Major Responsibilities:

  • Recommend overall learning content management strategy to optimize for all tools.
  • Complex planning to coordinate with other departments or resources.
  • Works with IT contacts to define and maintain content capabilities (includes: content taxonomies, metadata schemas, template libraries, tools for simplifying content contribution and content workflows) to realize the content strategy.
  • Lead a large project to migrate content from one learning management system to another, including configuration of files and, when necessary, assist with deployments.
  • Provide internal customer training on systems and processes.
  • Understand the core business objectives of the department and define the achievable goals they can attain from learning content activities, making sure the varied needs of multiple retail channels are taken into account.
  • Audit of current content to identify gaps and opportunities.
  • The ideal candidate will have:

  • 6+ years of related previous work experience, 4 years of which should be in a content management position.
  • Thorough knowledge of strategy, best practices and systems for learning content management.
  • Content management and content architecture experience.
  • Experience working with clients who have little or no knowledge about learning content or learning management strategies.
  • Experience with learning development/instructional design software.
  • Strong background in Learning Content Management Systems, content modeling, metadata management, support for multiple languages.
  • Significant LMS expertise and experience
  • Experience of scoping and developing implementation solutions, including project planning and risk management
  • Experience in gathering client requirements and being able to translate these into a solution for the client
  • Experience in all facets of learning experience design, development & management, to deliver the best solution for users
  • Expertise in the learning industry; proven ability to articulate its features and benefits to all levels of the business enterprise, including understanding of the customer's business drivers.
  • Experience managing competing agendas/priorities and establishing achievable programs/projects
  • Experience of scoping and delivering an LMS or CMS implementation
  • Experience of undertaking assessment of LMS or CMS and digital learning solution options (scoping, feasibility, design, services costing, deliverables, completion criteria, etc.)
  • Knowledge of the latest innovations, digital offerings and technologies in learning & content management
  • Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities include:

  • Ability to edit and implement HTML and graphics is a plus.
  • Knowledge/experience with SharePoint an asset.
  • The ability to withstand pressure in a dynamic and occasionally ambiguous work environment
