Responsibilities:
The Digital Development team is seeking an analytical and experienced Software Developer to join our team supporting the digital assets for Bell Media Toronto. Reporting to the manager of technical web development the candidate will be working collaboratively with other web and software developers, product owners and designers, as well as members of the web, broadcast and mobile teams. The ideal candidate is an accomplished software developer and experienced in integration and the digital media landscape. This position requires a positive, self-starter who is keen to be immersed in a collaborative, agile team-based environment.
Responsibilities include:
Maintaining the day to day technical production of websites Working with product owners to ensure that features and functionality are translated to the CMS(Content Management Systems) graphical interface Participating in requirement reviews, and provide feedback regarding on proposed changes Contribute to the definition, maintenance, and adherence to development best practices and standards Familiarization with all relevant brands and digital programming Other duties as assigned Critical Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or industry related experience 2-5 years experience as a Software Developer Expert knowledge of the Java programming language Strong knowledge of OOP and data structures Flexibility to work in other OOP Languages Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) Excellent communication skills required, both written and verbal Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team A positive self-motivator who takes ownership of their tasks and meets deliverables within a timely manner Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with web service protocols (JSON-RPC, SOAP) Experience with Transact SQL (MS SQL Server) and NoSQL Familiar with front end technologies (HTML 5, responsive design, CSS 3, Angular, JQuery) Familiar with Maven, Git, Atlassian suite, IntelliJ, Spring, Apache Camel
