Position Description
Reporting to the Senior Manager , Corporate Health and Safety, the incumbent will be part of a multidisciplinary team and will contribute to the development and implementation of the company’s Health and Safety (H&S) Management System (HSMS) as per the upcoming ISO 45001 standard.
In this position, the incumbent will work closely with team members and various business units within the company to:
Develop H&S Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) methodologies and processes aligned with the company’s enterprise wide risk management framework, and in compliance with applicable regulations and standards requirements. Support the Corporate H&S team and the operational business units in the implementation of the HIRA method, consolidate results and ensure risk profiles are kept up to date. Develop process to identity and keep track of H&S legal obligations applicable to the company’s operations, coordinate execution of gap analysis, and implementation of corrective measures when required. Develop a compliance assurance and monitoring process and produce compliance reports. Coordinate the communication of Corporate Safety Action Plans to targeted business units and consolidate implementation results for executive reporting. Essential skills / competencies
Excellent verbal and written communication skills University degree in a field relevant to the position Health and Safety or Risk management, with 5-7 years operational experience. Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply the Canada Labour Code and associated regulations, Provincial health and safety regulations, and other applicable standards. Strong working knowledge and experience in coordinating OHSAS 18001 (upcoming ISO 45001).management system. Current recognized professional designation (CRSP). Preferred qualifications/competencies
