Description

Each Business Systems Analyst participates in various projects, related to deployment for any channel implementation efforts related to IBMS production and/or system changes. This individual is integral to presenting and reviewing business requirements for each new channel group, and ensuring that no gaps exist prior to Go-Live. They are considered front line support/leaders to both the Project Team and business during the implementation.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implementations
  • Support/assist with the implementation of the Integrated Broadcast Management System (IBMS) for assigned deployments
  • Understanding business processes and relate them to the implementation of a complex system
  • Develop data and presentation materials to support Business scenarios reviewed for Hi-Level Introduction, and User Acceptance Testing functional reviews
  • Creation and review of functional requirements (i.e. understand what the business requires, be able to translate that into a deliverable, review what functionality was delivered and if it met functional requirements as expected)
  • Participate in writing system change requests, as required
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve as it relates to system functional defects
  • Perform root cause analysis and provide solutions / workarounds to the business as it relates to system defects
  • Understand, analyse, test, and detail new end-to-end business processes as they may evolve during Deployment phase and may differ slightly from one channel to the next
  • Implement system management and operational policies as defined by IT Management
  • Ensure assigned deliverables are completed on time
  • Ability to deliver training if necessary

  • Understand both business speak and IT speak
  • Communicate in a timely fashion any gaps found during meetings, presentations to ensure resolutions are found prior to launch
  • Escalate any issues/concerns/resolutions to Project Team and Senior Management team management as may be required
  • Liaise with various Project Team members as may be required
  • Provide project status updates as required
  • Foster trust and teamwork; engage Business users and Project Team members equally to provide correct and timely solutions
  • Support
  • Provide time critical support for IBMS during implementation phase
  • Provide SME support to IBMS Business Support Team and business users as may be required
  • EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS:

  • Essential
  • Bilingual
  • Understanding of the Systems Development Life Cycle
  • Knowledge of process and strategies related to software implementations
  • Experience in structured methodologies for the identification of users-requirements and the development of specifications
  • A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines
  • Proven ability to identify and analyze business requirements
  • Ability to manage and contain project scope
  • Experience in system specifications
  • Communication, facilitation, negotiation, consensus building, and problem solving skills
  • Experience in issue identification, resolution, and appropriate escalation
  • Ability to evaluate alternatives, make appropriate unbiased and timely decisions based on sound reasoning and judgment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both one-on-one and large group
  • Strong organization skills and ability to manage documentation preparation
  • Superior written skills required including ability to create documentation that is grammatically correct, clear, concise and within established guidelines
  • Superior analytical skills, including listening and questioning skills

  • Experience establishing a detailed work plan and meeting deliverables
