The Planning Department Office in the IT–Corporate/Field/Network team is looking for a Program Manager. We require a highly motivated individual, who thrives in a constantly changing and exciting environment.

Position Overview

The successful candidate will support the implementation and improvement of PMO standards and best practices for the department as well as providing support for 2016 planning activities. The candidate must have demonstrated ability to impact and influence business decisions and successfully manage cross functional teams. This individual must also have strong engagement management skills, analytical skills, solid business acumen, and the ability to speak in both business and technical terms.

Responsibilities:

This role includes but is not limited to the following activities:

  • Collect and analyse data related to various elements in support of the PMO’s mandate
  • Support other Program Managers and Planners in the PMO/Department
  • in the planning and delivery lifecycle to define scope of and facilitate cost and timing assessments of IT solutions
  • support implementation of short and long term strategic plans
  • Support and guide all parties involved within a program to embrace effective governance throughout the life cycle of projects
  • As required provide support in managing program financials, annual, quarterly and monthly YEE
  • Support Program Managers and Planners in developing and maintaining key program deliverables, program plans, metrics and status reports
  • Level of Experience and Education Required:

  • A post secondary degree in computer science with a business focus, and/or a business degree with a focus on computer science (or equivalent)
  • Proven track record with 3+ years of experience managing and delivering projects in an IT environment
  • Intermediate or Senior Business Analyst skills
  • Knowledge of Bell IT Systems, Field/Network/Operations applications is preferred
  • Management level knowledge of enterprise-level applications PEATS, PORT, SAP, Ariba, etc
  • Essential skills / competencies:

  • Program management skills including project planning and management, interdependency management, risk assessment and mitigation
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines on a consistent basis
  • Be highly self-motivated with proactive approach to problem solving, multi-task oriented team member with ability to self-manage tasks to completion within structured timelines
  • Be able to thrive in a high pressure environment with changing priorities, with customer satisfaction as a top priority
  • Strong communication both written and verbal and presentation abilities
  • Strong tolerance to ambiguity
  • High level of computer proficiency with Microsoft Office tools particularly Excel and Powerpoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to listen, understand, and respond both appropriately and effectively to all levels of management representing both technical and business perspectives
  • Team player; ability to facilitate, negotiate and work within a multi-domain team environment
  • Preferred skills / competencies:

  • Understanding of Bell’s Financial Governance process
  • Understanding of the IS/IT systems development environment
  • Understanding of project delivery lifecycle
  • Bilingualism is an asset (English, French)
