- What type of projects will this contractor be working? Through out the year we receive many requests from the Business Areas to enhance existing applications and from Business Initiated Projects to add new requirements to our applications. It is anticipated that the Contractor will work on new requirements to DigiTEK as a developer. However, we do reserve the right to have them work on one of our other applications if required. What we don’t want to hear is “I only do new applications. I don’t write scripts”. Contractor is expected to do what is required, when required. The Contractor does require analytical skills in terms of working with one of our BAs, understand the requirement, understand what code changes are required, make and test the changes (unit testing).The contractor will work under the direction of one of our Tek Primes.We are willing to look at more Senior People at a higher rate if they have good skill sets and experience. We do not want a junior who has to be taught everything and constantly monitored. That is we do not want to have to constantly redo everything they did. The Contractor should be able to do their job with minimal guidance.- Overview of the working department : System Works, a Bell Section is responsible for many internal, Bell based WEB based applications (Code Request Tool, Expense Request Tool, NDA Tool, eCertificate Tool, DigiTEK). We also receive requests from the Business Area to create new WEB based applications and to redesign existing applications/take over applications from other areas.- Flexible working from home? It is mandated that the Contractor work onsite during normal hours. However, for certain activities such as deployments that take place at night, these can be done from home as long as the Contractor has excellent internet access (via Bell VPN) and all activities can be done remotely.

- Why has this vacancy arisen? Ie. Maternity leave etcThe Contracting process can be a long process to select the correct candidate that will fit into the existing team. We are anticipating an increase in our workload which will require an extra dev person in our area to manage the increase in demand for our services.

- Any travel required? No- Conversion to permanent position at Bell applicable? No. However, we cannot stop the Contractor from applying for permanent positions else where in Bell or outside of Bell.

- Typical hours - Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day. There may be requirements sometimes to work a weekend or at night (i.e. deployment). These are the exceptions though.- Top 3 skill sets the resume must have

The Developer will be relevant to the IT manager. He has to get a good understanding of the business requirements and customer technologies. The developer will be responsible to develop and provide support to the Application during Project phases.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, release and support web based applications using various technologies and while adhering to our system standards and procedures - this will include various application components, web interfaces, web services and database processes

Be an integral part of project teams that work to ensure success for both us and our customers

Participate in the evolution of the product as we increase the abilities and capabilities of the application

Participate in the introduction of new technologies into the application - these may range from base OS upgrades through to the integration of new technologies that enhance our product offering

Work within the team to evolve our technical guidelines and coding standards

Prepare deployments.

Knowledge

Minimum 5 years of experience / analysis and development of Programming Languages: C#, SQL/T-SQL, JavaScript

Database: SQL Server 2012/2008/2005

Technology: ASP.NET 4.5, ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET web API, LINQ, nHibernate, Entity Framework, AngularJS,

Web Services, Reporting Services, SSIS. XML, CSS, XSL, jQuery

Good knowledge of at least experience with Oracle Warehouse Builder could be appreciable.
