    Reporting to the Senior Manager, Merchandising Audit and Compliance, the Merchandising Specialist will visit each of the Bell, Bell MTS and Virgin Dealer stores along with select Corporate Source stores within Northern Alberta, NWT, and Manitoba at least once per quarter. As part of a program to provide outstanding client experience in our stores, he/she will work in conjunction with the channel to identify performance gaps and provide ongoing coaching and support to continuously improve merchandising execution at store level. He/she will ensure that any non-compliance issues are escalated when necessary and are resolved in a timely fashion. In addition, he/she will support the stores with implementation of any new merchandising initiatives as required.

    Job Duties/Accountabilities:

  • Perform quarterly merchandising compliance visits to each of the Bell, BellMTS and Virgin Dealer stores along with the Corporate Source stores within Northern Alberta, NWT, and Manitoba at least once per quarter.
  • Perform an entire store walkthrough to assess store compliance with our online visual merchandising system (VMS) (approximately 90 minutes*)
  • Provide training on the use of VMS when necessary
  • Provide constructive coaching and training to store employees on low-scoring areas of the checklist
  • Assist with the set up of new Bell/Bell MTS branded store openings and retrofits
  • Photograph each location and upload to VMS
  • Must be able to travel across Alberta, NWT and Manitoba on a quarterly basis
  • Directing tickets for resolution in the VMS system for the AB/NWT/MB regions *Less for The Source locations.
  • Critical Qualifications/Competencies:

  • College diploma
  • Minimum 2 years working in a retail environment
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently
  • Demonstrates discretion and attention to detail and ability to problem solve
  • Focused and results-oriented
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organization and planning skills needed in order to manage multiple store visits daily
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimum supervision
  • Based in Edmonton or surrounding area
  • Preferred Qualifications/Competencies:

  • MS office skills including: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of the telecommunications industry or other technology
  • Ability to travel
  • Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle required
