We do ask sometimes to walk through a short piece of code to see if candidate truly understands the language they claim to have proficiency with or to solve is a simple programming exercise (15 min max). Bottom line candidates must be able to speak about technologies, tools and concepts they have on their resumes, if they slap buzzwords on their resumes to get attention, but don’t understand basics of the concepts behind them, they won’t succeed. How long will the interviews be?
Phone interviews with me will last 30 min. Their purpose is to evaluate candidates’ communication skills and obtain high level understanding of their work experience in relation to our needs and also to verify that actually have understanding of what’s on their resumes. If successful, candidates will be invited for in person interview where more technical resource will assist me with further evaluating candidate’s suitability for the role

Summary:
We are searching for a QA Engineer to be part of a dedicated team focused on the development and support of video players for Web, mobile and other platforms - used on sites like TSN, CTV, CraveTV and many more! Our team members work closely with strategists, content producers and design team members to develop specifications and make recommendations on the use of new and emerging technologies. Development of tests, testing, test automation and reporting are all elements of this position. The right individual for this role will be a motivated and energetic professional with extensive experience in both manual and automated testing, who takes initiative, enjoys finding solutions to a varying number of challenges, is detail-oriented and takes extreme pride in their work.
Key Responsibilities
Participation in sprint planning, estimation, and review processes using Agile methodologies for web and/or mobileDesign, development and execution of manual and automated tests for applications running on Web and mobile platformsImplementation of test automation scripts using common automation frameworksReporting and tracking of defects using issue management systemsClose colaboration with Project Lead and members of the Development Team to ensure timely delivery of necessary QA Automation solutionsCommunication to the Development Lead and Project Managers with efficiency and accuracy any progress and/or delaysCreation and maintenance of design/technical documentation related to QA Automation solutions Performance of all other duties as assigned Qualifications
Must have:
College Diploma or University Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline At least 2 years experience in QA Automation Engineer or similar role At least 5 years experience in software development industry in QA Analyst or similar role Strong understanding of QA methodologies Experience with testing Web and mobile (iOS and Android) applications using both manual and automated approach Understanding of HTML/ HTML5, CSS/ CSS3 and JavaScript technologies as pertaining to software testing Experience in automation of testing of RESTful web servicesExperience with network packet sniffing, debugging and automating network calls for QA (Wireshark, Charles Proxy, Fiddler) Experience with Selenium and Appium Knowledge of JIRA, Confluence and Bitbucket/Git or other similar systems Knowledge of scrum and agile methodologies Ability to test for cross browser compatibility issues Team player with the desire to own projects and the ability to work with minimal supervision Detail oriented with good time management skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast paced environment Keeps up to date on industry best practices and technology Knowledge of TestRail Nice to have:
