Operating data centres in Montreal, Toronto and Calgary, Bell offers IT solutions to both mid and enterprise market customers. Services provided range from space, power, cooling, physical security, internet, firewalls, backup/restore, managed virtual servers and a variety of applications. All solutions are architected with multiple levels of redundancy, significant scalability and overall high availability. Customers are supported through a 24*7 Network Operations Centre and are backed up by an industry leading service level agreement.
Job description:
The NOC Analyst will have responsibilities for providing end to end hosting solutions for mission critical web hosting. The individuals chosen for these roles are to be senior technical resources with a wide breadth of technical experience and expertise. As such, they are empowered to make on the spot design and operational decisions.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide complex end to end web hosting solutions for Bell customersPromote and enforce best practices on solutions delivery to produce maximum uptimeProvide leadership to physical security and facilities teamsProvide consultative and professional services to our customersWork with vendors for product information, pricing and supportPerform datacentre tours for customer prospectsAssist in provisioning of customer architecturesEngage other Bell departments for solutions design and deliveryResearch and evaluate new products and technologies Design and build tools to assist in operations management such as knowledge bases, capacity planning systems etcPerform quality assurance and testing to ensure production readinessRequirements
Excellent understanding of server operating systems (Linux, Windows)Strong understanding of IP, subnetting and TCP/IP protocolsIn Depth of knowledge in backup and storage technologiesExcellence in security systems such as firewalls, VPNs and IDSStrong understanding of networking fundamentals and OSI modelExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent teamwork and customer service skillsGood understanding of sales cycleGood knowledge of hosting marketplaceexperienced with Windows and open-source operating systemsnice to have in-depth knowledge of switching and routingnice to have knowledge of SQL, Exchange, CitrixCisco CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, Microsoft MCSA/MCSE, Red Hat RHCT or other, Network+Qualifications
