a. This a technical role and the candidate will be working in an Agile Team

b. Technical stories and requirements will be written for our developers

c. The ability to test these new functionalities is key

d. The resource should be technically Savy and should have some user level knowledge of Linux and Windows

i. Know how to read logs to identify any issues

ii. Ability to work autonomously

iii. Ability to drive multiple teams

iv. Strong understanding of Internet and ability to configure Modems

e. Previous knowledge of Test Case automation

2) Is the Manager looking for a BSA or a BA? BA

3) What are the defect tracking tools needed? We are using JIRA and QA Complete

4) What kind of application testing will this resource be required to perform?

a. The AccessCare platform interacts with Element Management Systems and Modems

b. Projects that the resource will work on will need to be fully tested and existing functionalities will need to be regressed

c. The resource will be in communication with the LAB team to resolve any Lab related issues

d. Post deployment Testing which can occur a few times a month during off hours.

5) What is the project this resource will be working on? Many projects introducing new Functionalities to techniciansAll BA’s are currently located in Mississauga and we are trying to maintain a high level of synergy

The successful candidate will be accountable to analyze and document system, network and business requirements in accordance with conceptual solutions within the Service Assurance Test domain. They will have the ability to build strong partnerships with clients and vendors, to validate application designs as well as to achieve alignment and buy-in from end users. They will perform comprehensive validation, regression and performance testing in adherence with the Service Assurance Test domain delivery best practices and release management policies.

Qualifications/competencies:

Training/Education

  • Bachelor in Software, Electrical or Network engineering
  • Bachelor in Computer Science or equivalent College Diploma
  • And/or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge
  • Requirements management best practices
  • UML documentation
  • General understanding of xDSL and GPON technology
  • Internet, VoIP and IPTV (service provider perspective)
  • General understanding of industry IT standards, such as TOGAF, ETOM and TMF models
  • Linux/Unix shell functions (managing processes, editing text files, OS navigation, etc)
  • General understanding of programming and markup languages
  • Enterprise application frameworks (Java EE, ESB, .NET, etc)
  • Web Services / SOA, N-Tier Architectures
  • Any OO language (Java- mainly, C/C++ an asset, Javascript, Python, etc)
  • Any procedural language (C, Perl, Shell, AWK, etc)
  • Any markup language (HTML + CSS, XML, SGML, etc)
  • Experience

  • Previous Business analyst experience
  • Application Testing and Defect Tracking tools
  • Customer service and network diagnostics tools (DSL test preferred)
  • Skills

  • Ability to perform data mining, statistical and quantitative analysis
  • Autonomous, strong tolerance to ambiguity, excellent capacity for applied learning
  • Proven leadership, organization, problem solving skills
  • Excellent ability to articulate and document technical concepts on many levels- modify approach as required for differing audiences
  • Bilingualism is an asset
  • Working conditions:

  • Ability to efficiently work in virtual teams, handling multiple projects and deliverables.
  • Ability to work occasional weekends and evenings to meet hard deadlines and ability to work occasional overnights to take part in deployment activities.
  • Ability to travel – sometimes at short notice – within the Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, London corridor – depending on project needs.
