You must be a subject matter expert with hands-on experience in low latency networking, implementation, and operations across a global enterprise environment.
You will have a balanced mix of project and operations across the electronic trading environment with support of Market Data, Trading, and co-lo design with extreme availability requirements.
You must work well with technical engineers and clients.
Responsibilities
Sr. engineering role in enterprise networks with a focus on low latency technologies.
Work in a team based environment to design and build a high performance network across the electronic trading plant. Must be hands on with ability to think on your feet.
Interface with app dev and high performance compute teams to continually improve performance and stability of the network service.
Serve as the innovation lead to research and bring new low latency network technologies into the firm including wireless technologies, low latency transport, routing/switching, and compute technologies.
Contribution, creation, and deployment of global standards and participation into the network framework for deployment and operations.
L4/L3 operational support. Provide engineering in performance monitoring.
Qualifications
Expert in low latency network technologies including Multicast, L2/L3, NAT, ACL, WAN/MAN design, expert in routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF). Expert in network hardware options and low latency switching.
Experience with Arista, Cisco, Metametko, and other low latency platforms. Knowledge of FPGA and high performance compute technology.
Expert in low latency transport vendors and solutions including wireless (microwave) and key fiber routes across major co-lo’s.
Expert in low latency time-stamping and clock accuracy. Experience with Velocimetrics is a plus.
Operationally sound with ability to troubleshoot major issues quickly. Must be organized and analytical, fact based.
Bachelors degree in a related field required. Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in a technical engineering role for low latency networks and electronic trading.
Python, Java, and/or TCL programming ability is a plus. Experience with Network management technologies is a plus.
Willingness to learn is a must. Detail oriented; Demonstrable thoroughness and strong ownership of work.
Good team player with a strong willingness to participate and help others.
Strong verbal and written communication skills is needed.
Ability to communicate with various technology leads and application development teams aligned to low latency trading.
