Excellent written and verbal communication skillsBachelor’s degree in technology-related field, or in computer science, or the equivalent work experienceHigh level of computer proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and MS Project)The Desktop Program Management & PC Imaging team is seeking a Project Manager to coordinate multiple desktop programs focused on maintaining currency across Client’s desktop environment. The primary goal is to increase the deployment of Windows 10 across the company using automated tools before Windows 7 support ends in January, 2020. There is also a requirement to ensure PC software versions are current in order to keep Windows 10 supported. With the introduction of Windows 10, Microsoft has introduced a new servicing model which means Operating System (OS) updates every 6 months that are only supported for 18-months. This new cadence is creating a requirement to proactively update software to ensure that Windows 10 is kept current.
Job Duties/Accountabilities:
Coordinate internal resources and vendors for the execution of Windows workstation deploymentsAssist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibilityDevelop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progressMeasure project performance using appropriate tools and techniquesReport and escalate to management as neededManage the relationship with the client and all stakeholdersDevelop test plansPerform testing and trouble-shooting of Windows 7 to Windows 10 in-place upgradePerform software update testing and trouble-shootingEngage pilot users and ensure the solution is thoroughly testing Identify project issues and escalate to avoid end-user impacts and project delaysDevelop communications including support documentation for end-usersFacilitate and coordinate meetingsNegotiate with end-users to get resultsData analysis: assess upgrade candidates, track resultsCollaborate with internal stakeholders across companyEngage Desktop Support teams to support desktop tickets resulting from automation failures Develop and manage deployment schedulesCritical Qualifications/Competencies:
