  • The Desktop Program Management & PC Imaging team is seeking a Project Manager to coordinate multiple desktop programs focused on maintaining currency across Client’s desktop environment. The primary goal is to increase the deployment of Windows 10 across the company using automated tools before Windows 7 support ends in January, 2020. There is also a requirement to ensure PC software versions are current in order to keep Windows 10 supported. With the introduction of Windows 10, Microsoft has introduced a new servicing model which means Operating System (OS) updates every 6 months that are only supported for 18-months. This new cadence is creating a requirement to proactively update software to ensure that Windows 10 is kept current.

    Job Duties/Accountabilities:

  • Coordinate internal resources and vendors for the execution of Windows workstation deployments
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Develop test plans
  • Perform testing and trouble-shooting of Windows 7 to Windows 10 in-place upgrade
  • Perform software update testing and trouble-shooting
  • Engage pilot users and ensure the solution is thoroughly testing
  • Identify project issues and escalate to avoid end-user impacts and project delays
  • Develop communications including support documentation for end-users
  • Facilitate and coordinate meetings
  • Negotiate with end-users to get results
  • Data analysis: assess upgrade candidates, track results
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across company
  • Engage Desktop Support teams to support desktop tickets resulting from automation failures
  • Develop and manage deployment schedules
  • Critical Qualifications/Competencies:

  • Highly self-motivated with proactive & creative approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple projects through effective prioritization while meeting timelines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A strong attention to detail and organizational skills are crucial
  • Bachelor’s degree in technology-related field, or in computer science, or the equivalent work experience
  • Project Management designation/certification
  • High level of computer proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and MS Project)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to build effective relationships and influence others
  • Bilingual in French and English would be a strong asset
