Strong command the MVC pattern and it application with Content Management

Experienced in Agile Methodologies and SDLC

Intermediate role

Testing in interviews - Yes. The goal is to evaluate the candidates problem solving and familiarity with abstract data types

Types of projects candidates will work on - Projects are for CTV News, CP24 and BNN Bloomberg websites. Maintenance, upgrades and new implementations

Typical hours worked 9-5pm

Why this position has arisen - Position has come about as augmentation to the current team. We are looking to accelerate progress on a large 2019 project which is lagging. The candidate is not working directly on that project but supporting the businesses mentioned above to allow for more focus on the project.

Hire full time - unlikely

I am comfortable with flex hours. Remote work is not possible.

We are seeking:

3-5 years of experience as a Software Developer

Strong knowledge of OOP and data structures

Expert knowledge of the Java programming language

Flexibility to work in other OOP Languages

Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)

A candidate with strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team

If you have one of the following, it’s even better:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent

Experience with web service protocols (JSON-RPC, SOAP)

Experience with Transact SQL (MS SQL Server) and NoSQL

Familiar with front end technologies (HTML 5, responsive design, CSS 3, Angular, JQuery)

Familiar with Maven, Git, Atlassian suite, IntelliJ, Spring, Apache Camel
