Description

  • You are a leader in our DevOps revolution and are tasked with building DevOps tools and practices by working directly with development teams. You are a hands-on person with an agile and collaborative mindset who wants to take charge of the cultural change of the teams around you. You know the DevOps practice areas and see optimization solutions where everyone else sees problems. Your goal is to change the culture while developing automation tools in collaboration with all sectors while keeping the human being in the forefront. Your role You contribute to the development of our DevOps strategy but with a focus on a particular delivery area. You have a vision of the needs in tools and support of the sector in order to improve the DevOps practices according to priorities allowing a structured and measurable increase in competence.
  • This means using your technical and leadership skills to perform the following functions:

  • Manage the industry's DevOps practice and tools backlog to optimize effort allocation and results
  • Collaborate with Heritage's central DevOps team to utilize existing tools and practices or help create new ones.
  • Contribute to the optimization of the sector's development infrastructure in order to facilitate its use in continuous delivery by all teams
  • Constantly seek optimization via feedback loops with stakeholders - Prepare industry practices and tools to transition applications to the public cloud.
  • Measure and report on our DevOps practices.
  • Integrate security solutions across our solutions.
  • Search for innovative solutions but with a realistic implementation considering the state of the industry
  • Preparing the sector for the Build it - Run it mentality.
  • Here is the technological environment in which you will evolve at the beginning:
  • Collaboration (JIRA/Confluence)
  • Source code management (Git-Bitbucket)
  • Continuous integration servers (Jenkins with the concept of pipeline as code)
  • Artifact management (Nexus, Artifactory)
  • Reporting and dashboards (SonarQube)
  • Provisioning (Ansible, Terraform)
  • Containers and orchestration (Docker/k8s)
  • Deployed on multi-cloud environments (private with OpenShift, public with AWS)
  • Monitoring applications and infrastructures (AppDynamics, Datadog, Splunk, etc.) to ensure they deliver the expected business value to our customers
  • As a DevOps lead, you are a generalist on all things DevOps and promote the Build it, Run it! culture.
  • What you should have to apply

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry related experience and 5 - 10 years of relevant experience
  • Above average understanding of Cloud infrastructure
  • Above average understanding of the software development environment
  • In-depth knowledge of all DevOps practices and their implementations.
  • In-depth knowledge of automation and release management
  • DevOps certification (SAFE or others) an asset
  • Knowledge of the SAFE framework an asset Soft Skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Talented communicator
  • Go-getter and collaborative attitude
  • Bilingualism (spoken/written) French (4/5) and English preferred (3/5)
  • Please refer candidates who are already in the province of Quebec. The manager does not want to wait for a resource to enter the country. She cannot delay the project
  • This position will be telecommuting until September 2021, but this position should be onsite in Montreal when the situation with COVID-19 is stabilized. The Manager is open to receiving candidates who are currently in the province of Quebec only - but must be residing in Montreal by September.
