Description
The Business Markets IT Delivery organization is a dynamic team of information technology professionals accountable to deliver projects that include New Product Introductions and enhancements to a range of platforms such as Network Mediation, Session Initiation Protocol Provisioning, and provisioning systems for voice and data services.
We require an additional Application Architect to join our team. The position works with project managers, business analysts, vendors, application support teams, IT infrastructure teams and clients to implement high quality software solutions that satisfy new requirements and resolve issues raised by application support.

Job Duties/Accountabilities
The successful candidate will be accountable for the following:
Analyzes business requirements and provides input to ensure system requirements cover all considerations required to drive a scalable, robust, and optimized designProvides input and direction to vendors to ensure optimal designsProvides analysis and recommendations for new software / infrastructure as requiredProvides test planning and directs environment readiness to support test activitiesPerforms testing on enterprise systems solutions, including technical components solutions and business rulesSupports the project team with challenges and defect resolution during construction and test activitiesCreates or provides input and approval of deployment plans, ensuring issue free deployments of new code to productionAccountable to ensure technical documentation (architecture diagrams, as-built design information) is in place and kept up to date as project and support activities occur over timeMonitors and interprets application availability metrics, ensuring actions are proactively taken to achieve target results. Creates new metrics as required to ensure appropriate visibility of key performance indicators is in placeTroubleshoots production issues as 3rd-level escalation contactEssential skills / competencies:
Bachelor degree in computer science, software engineering, IT or a related disciplineStrong technical writing skills (ability to write clearly and concisely)Strong trouble shooting skills (ability to uncover trouble rapidly and provide resolutionProven ability to meet aggressive deadlines & work under pressureExperience with leading edge concepts and techniques like multi-threading, high availability, virtualization, containerization and, database performance analysis tools Deep knowledge of DB systems such as Oracle, MSSQL, SQL, data modeling, performance analysisFamiliar with Web Services concepts: Tomcat, JBOSS, WebLogic, XML, SOAP, etc.Performance analysis and tuning experienceAbility to build bridges with technical & non-technical teamsGood team spirit and a desire for continuous learningPassion to learn telephony or billingBeneficial skills / competencies:
Oracle and other database certifications,Development skills in major programming languages (Java, J2EE, PL/SQL, shell,) including web servicesExperience with continuous integration/delivery pipelines and automationA good understanding of application/platform security concepts and best practicesExperience with client’s Business Markets product portfolio Experience with Pitney Bowes Spectrum platformExperience with Oracle TBS (Metasolv) and Neustar Requestflow Experience with data warehousing, report generation and ETL toolsExperience with Redhat Enterprise Linux, Windows Server 2016Designs and constructs proof of concept solutions as requiredWorking Conditions:
Availability to work occasional weekends and evenings to meet hard deadlines and available to work occasional overnights to take part in deployment activities
