IMPORTANT

Fully work from home currently, may be a potential for in office work later in the year, depending on covid situation

Hours per week 37.5 - 40

Day to day basis - Primarily ETL development using the IBM Datastage platform. Will require data ingestion from various sources (files on sftp, external databases, api’s, etc.). This also includes schema/table development in an Oracle database.

3 top functions -

IBM Datastage code development (ETL process),

Oracle table creation/modification,

Interaction with red hat linux server: developing shell scripts, log files, etc

1st 6 months - Work is project based, with most projects taking 2-3 weeks to develop + 1 week for UAT testing and production deployments. I would expect any candidate to be able to work on their own projects after 1-2 weeks of onboarding

3 top skills in priority orders

IBM Datastage experience (11.7 preferred),

Oracle experience,

Red Hat Linux experience

Ideal candidate -

Minimum 2 years of experience in ETL development, IBM datastage preferred.

Comfortable working as part of a team of developers, participating in regular scrum calls, etc.

Testing in interviews - Likely not. Am ok with a technical question type of interview to get a feel for experience and knowledge of the above products

Full time - Yes – there is potential for full time later this year or next. We are working on securing the headcount for full time currently.

Responsible for programming, testing, debugging, and documenting Datawarehouse applications.

Maintains and modifies existing applications and corresponding documentation.

Creates and maintains effective application documentation.

Assists in the development of test plans for assigned projects.

Uses simple to moderately complex debugging techniques to test applications.

Qualifications include:

In depth and demonstrated experience with datawarehousing technologies, and logical and physical design,

and Undergraduate degree.
