Description

The job duties will fall into the following categories:

Provision/Configuration of network equipment to support the requirements of conferences/events - Switches, Routers, Wireless, Firewalls, Phone Systems, Servers
Troubleshooting network issues - Wireless, Wired, Layer2, Layer3, DHCP/DNS, managed switches/routers/firewalls
Supporting field technicians – A team of technicians take care of most of the physical aspects of wiring and connecting devices. You will be their technical support.
Event coordination - working with the technical teams of conferences to plan and coordinate the network needs to host their event working directly with customers.
Project support – working with the Convention Centre project teams to help implement the network components to their various projects
Network upgrades – Design implement and document
Network security – testing auditing and patching

Although this role is primarily weekdays 9-5, it is supporting the conference business so there will be times required to work evenings/weekends as well as the occasional very late maintenance windows.

Critical Qualifications/Competencies:

Diploma or Degree in a computer science field or electronics with a focus on IP networking
Experience in campus networking (Switching, routing, firewalls, wireless, IP phone system) specifically working with Cisco IOS
As this team operates in the hospitality industry, excellent customer communication skills are mandatory
A desire to learn and problem solve
Strong team spirit and ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and multiple projects
Proven ability to build effective relationships with partners and customers
Certifications are preferred (i.e., Cisco, Avaya, Microsoft, Citrix, VMware, etc...)
Ability to conduct Ekahau (or similar tool) wireless site surveys and generating professional reports.
Experience with RF planning and optimization tools

Preferred Qualifications/Competencies:
