Location preferred to be Thunder Bay and surrounding area.
This position in the context of implementation management is a very detailed oriented function requiring the individual to comprehend and remain up to date with client's evolving access network engineering practices and associated processes. This is to ensure accuracy and compliance on all designs, SAP budgets, permits and quality control measures in accordance to the requirements of each respective downstream internal and external agency. To support the detailed design role, this position will require year round field data collection in urban, rural and wilderness settings. There is also a clear expectation for this individual to be highly productive while working autonomously, sensitive to project timelines and to have competent interpersonal skills as a primary interface for vendors, government entities, other utilities, internal partners, etc.

Sound Telecommunication knowledge and experience to design the most optimal and cost effective network elements within the most current client practices
Demonstrated aptitude to learn and apply engineering concepts as well as physically capable of collecting field data in a multitude of outdoor environments
Self motivated to remain productive while working autonomously. Diligent in following all processes and obtaining required permissions by internal and external agencies
Job Duties / Accountabilities:
The successful candidate will be expected to perform tasks such as the following:
Program Delivery
Designing plans for cooper and fiber optic expansion and maintenance
Ensure Risks are identified and establish a mitigation plan
Prime interface with key Stakeholders
Provide problem-solving leadership to project team in project scope, timeline, functions, etc.
Track and report on project progress.
Provide support to the prioritization and escalation process.
Develop/maintain working relationships
Participate in the development of new processes and improvements to existing ones
Financial Management of assigned projects
Planned vs. Forecasted vs. Actual
Working occasionally with local Frist Nations on projects

In good physical condition, capable to travel in some occasion on boats, snowmobiles, helicopters
Preferred Requirements / Competencies:
Minimum 3 yrs. experience in Access Network (Fiber optic and Copper)
Prior management / supervisory experience
Knowledge of outside plant installation, maintenance, or construction
Knowledge of other client systems-SAP, NETX, IPACT, COPS
Adult Education an asset
