Description

  • Flexible hourly rate

  • Telecommuting: Hybrid 40% face-to-face 2 days/week mandatory at downtown montreal office

  • Bilingualism: French and English required


Your role

  • As part of the development team, work closely with the project team to understand requirements and translate them into test cases/scenarios;

  • Participate in writing the test strategy and ensure test design and execution;

  • Ensure the execution of functional and non-functional tests throughout the test chain (TU, TI, TS, TAU);

  • Report any anomalies found during testing.

  • Monitor test progress, and correct and diagnose any anomalies encountered.

  • Help optimize tests by participating in the reduction of problems/anomalies corresponding to the initiative, thus preventing the occurrence of production breakdowns;

  • Validate the quality of the solution, taking into account all activities having an impact on the success of the tests, and assessing the associated risks;

  • Set up a dashboard to monitor QA indicators on the progress of QA activities; Conduct follow-up meetings (Defect Triage)

  • Identify, communicate and manage potential risks and impacts;

  • Ensure adequate test coverage (including non-functional);

  • Facilitate the adoption of specialized tools for automated testing;

  • Participate in the continuous improvement of QA methodology and best practices.

  • Work closely with other team members: developers, analysts, PO, SM.

Prerequisites

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and six years' relevant experience OR Master's degree in a related field and four years' relevant experience

  • 3 to 5 years' experience in quality assurance

  • Knowledge of the application of quality activities within the SDLC in a traditional or agile approach;

  • Understanding of risk management techniques;

  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team;

  • Thoroughness and attention to detail;

  • Excellent oral communication skills;

  • Experience in test automation an asset;

  • Demonstrated experience with continuous integration and deployment is an asset;

  • Knowledge of the following tools is an important asset:

  1. Xray (TCM for Atlassian/Jira)

  2. Protractor

  3. SauceLab

  4. Atlassian Suite (particularly Jira)

  5. Java

  6. Selenium

  7. Soap-UI

  8. Jenkins

  9. Maven

  10. Git/Bitbucket;
