Description
The Functional and Technical Writer is responsible for creating, reviewing, and documenting technical guides and manuals related to internally developed software at CHU de Québec – Université Laval. They work closely with development teams and business analysts to extract and structure the necessary technical information to produce clear, precise, and standardized documentation.

Write, review, and publish French-language technical documents based on software evolution.

Create and maintain technical guides, user manuals, training materials, knowledge bases, and test plans.

Document interface and report standards and conventions for developed software.

Analyze software usage to write clear documentation tailored to different audiences (developers, end-users, trainers).

Illustrate and structure manuals with diagrams, screenshots, and detailed descriptions.

Work closely with development teams and business analysts to extract relevant technical information.

Participate in reviewing and continuously improving documentation based on software updates.

Organize and share documents using modern technological tools to facilitate information accessibility.

Ensure compliance with linguistic and technical standards to maintain high-quality documentation.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in literature, languages, humanities, social sciences, or any other relevant university discipline.

Recognized and relevant experience in technical writing within IT, software development, or publishing.

Proficiency with modern documentation tools for information sharing and management.

Excellent command of written and spoken French.

Knowledge of Lean management methodology (a plus).
